Favorite Holiday Activity
Linda's favorite holiday activity is decorating the Christmas tree. She loves unwrapping and hanging the ornaments, and enjoys all the memories they bring back after collecting for many years.
3 Tips: Holiday Photos to Capture Special Moments
Linda is a lifestyle portrait and wedding photographer (visit her on Facebook). What started as a hobby, is rapidly becoming a professional endeavor with Linda's business growing by word-of-mouth. She's got some great tips on how to capture the best holiday photos, ones you'll cherish for years to come.
- Plan for your holiday photos by thinking through your holiday plans and who you'll be deciding. Identify those special people you'll be seeing that you'd love to photograph, like older people who you don't see often. Also prepare one special place in your home for great holiday photos, as everyone wants a few formal pics … although informal ones are just as good.
- Be sure you're always camera ready for those special moments. Leave your camera near your photo spot, or somewhere that it's easy to find and let your family know too as you won't always be there. Phones work well too, especially if you're out and forgot to bring your camera.
- Focus on capturing the special moments which often aren't posed. Linda shared a photo shoot she did recently, where she took photos of a family decorating their Christmas tree. Don't worry about getting the perfect photo, just capture anything that grabs your attention. It's also fine to take some posed photos when everyone is together.
