Maybe you're wondering if you should decorate your kitchen? You're thinking kitchens are for for holiday baking and cooking, right? Kitchens actually play a key role during parties as people gravitate to the kitchen even when you don't plan for it. So why not decorate the kitchen and do it so you can easily move decorations off the counter tops when it's time to bake those cookies.
Notice all of the decorations shown here. Rather than lots of small items, there are just a few bigger decorations to make it easy to move them to another location. If you want to spread out to make cookies or a gingerbread house on the kitchen island below left, there are just 2 candlesticks and one bowl to move. On the right, a single wooden box full of fruit and holiday greenery can be moved in a minute.
Larger Containers Easier to Move
What's easy to see is any type of large container offers tremendous flexibility for holiday decorating, because it's big enough to fill the space and easy to move when the space is needed for something else. Kitchen serving dishes, flower vases, pottery and wooden boxes can all hold an assortment of holiday greenery along with decorating accents for color. Some decorations are tall while others are short. Decorating containers are classy or country to match the style of the home and in all instances, the decorations can be moved for a meal or party, with a seconds notice … provided you've thought ahead to where you'll put the decorations.
