Tethering is when one device is connected to another device, in order to share a connection to the Internet. The most common form of tethering is when you use your cell phone to connect your tablet or notebook to the Internet, in effect letting multiple devices share a single Internet connection.
Tethering connections can be made over a wireless LAN (wi-fi), over Bluetooth or with a physical (cable) connection like a USB. In our photo, the tablets could be connected via a wireless router or the cell phone sitting on the coffee table.
